The 1.66 acre site will bring together 17 residences, four floors of offices, and luxury retail units, introducing new, vibrant architecture to the neighbourhood. </p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ziggurat is conceived as a piece of Coconut Grove, and the architecture embraces \u200b the landscape, climate, material and the informal life of the neighbourhood - offering a contemporary, vibrant, yet tranquil community experience. Its design grows from the area&rsquo;s historic masonry, mature tropical landscape, shaded streets and bohemian character, translating these qualities into a contemporary setting for living, working, and socialising. </p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">The project is formed by a series of stepped, irregular and carefully composed volumes. Each mass responds to the street, the park, the sky and the spaces between buildings, creating a more intimate relationship with the surroundings. The stepped form creates generous terraces for vegetation and allows light and sky to reach deep within the site, breaking the scale of the mixed-use programme into a collection of distinct buildings and outdoor spaces.</p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em><strong>Chad Oppenheim, Founder of Oppenheim Architecture, said:</strong></em> &ldquo;For Ziggurat, we wanted to draw on Miami&rsquo;s natural environment to create a space that complements and responds to it. At Oppenheim Architecture, we&rsquo;ve always embraced the city&rsquo;s &lsquo;free materials&rsquo; - the light, tropical breezes, water and sky that are fundamental to how people experience Miami. In particular with Coconut Grove, the sense of openness is central to the design, from the stepped terraces and deep overhangs to the integration of landscape throughout the building. Solid stone masses are separated by transparent glass, open-air passages, vegetation and light, creating a dialogue between solidity and transparency. Deep overhangs and shaded exterior spaces respond to Miami&rsquo;s climate, while planting emerges from terraces, walls, courtyards and rooflines, allowing the architecture to change with light, weather and time.</p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">At ground level, shaded pedestrian paseos lead through the development towards a verdant central courtyard. Retail, dining, caf&eacute;s and gathering spaces occupy the ground floor and mezzanine, creating an active public realm shaped by shade, stone, wood, water and planting. Each terrace includes a summer kitchen and chef-grade grill, and every residence is equipped with a private elevator and smart-home technology.
